Falcoaria — falconry as the historic royal hunting tradition — is kept alive at Tapada through recurring courses and 'Birds for Princes' demonstrations.

What it is
Tapada hosts both a multi-module falcoaria course and shorter public experiences such as 'Aves para Príncipes — A Falcoaria na Idade Média e no Presente'.
Programmes are capacity-limited (typically up to 30 participants) with a minimum age around 8, and pricing for shorter experiences starts around €14 with a small supplement per companion.
A strong cultural anchor for Mafra's hunting heritage even though the Tapada's general public programme does not include live hunts.
